Wideplank:

Luxury Wideplank engineered board has a top layer made from a single width of select grade 189mm wide, so giving the appearance when finished of a traditional wide boarded floor.

These boards are composed of three layers. The lower layers are made from a central spruce core with a thin plywood laid at 90^o to the layer above it adding to the strength and rigidity of the boards. The top layer is 4mm of oak sanded to take a finish of your choice.

The floor is laid "floating" which means that only the joints of the boards are glued together to make a layer which rests on the subfloor by its own weight.

These 15mm thick engineered floorings can be laid directly onto a dry solid subfloor (concrete or chipboard etc) with or without a foam underlay. This can be used to improve sound proofing where required especially where using soundproof quilting.

Lengths of boards are 1860mm with two half length boards per pack.
