
BRUSHED: High speed brushing with steel brushes to remove some of the softer grain and therefore exaggerate the surface texture of the grain.
DISTRESSED: Edges and surfaces treated by hand and machine to produced an authentic aged appearance for use in restoration projects (see Beach House).
SAWN: Boards are planed and then resawn to leave bandsaw marks which are then softened with brushing.
STAINED:Coloured with a deep penetrating stain prior to finishing with a clear finish or oak can be smoked.
SURFACE COLOURED: Top surfaces are treated with 2 coats of colourtinted hardwax oil prior to a final coat of clear hardwax oil to finish.
MIXED FINISHES : Oak boards may be smoked or stained prior to applying a chalk or white oil.
