FOAM UNDERLAYS & MOISTURE BARRIERS

STANDARD FOAM UNDERLAY

As a high quality foam underlay with no special requirements we suggest our standard white underlay, which is 3mm thick. It is made of lightweight closed cell polyethylene foam and gives good impact sound reduction and good levelling properties at a very competitive price.

DURALAY HEATFLOW - FOR OVER UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Specifically designed as a low-tog underlay (0.35togs) for use with UFH. It's 3mm thick, has a thermal conductivity of 0.101 W/mk combined with a good impact sound reduction of 21dB

QUICKTHERM - FOR OVER UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Designed for UFH.  It is composed from very dense, lightweight closed cell polyethylene foam.  The underlay is perforated to allow maximum heat transfer.  Quicktherm is 1.8mm thick and has a low 0.35 tog value.

HD CONTRACT UNDERLAY - FOR SOUND REDUCTION

To float Chauncey's Tectonic Engineered boards and get the best reduction in impact sound use H.D. Contract underlay.  It's 5.35mm thick and reduces impact sound by a huge 28dB.

SILENT LAYER - FOR SOUND REDUCTION

To Glue down boards and still get good sound reduction use Sika ‘Silent Layer’ underlay which has ready cut slots for Sikabond adhesive. Silent Layer is available in:

 

3mm (16db reduction in footfall sound) or

5mm thickness (18db reduction).

TUPLEX™ - MOISTURE BARRIER

Tuplex™ is a 3mm thick underlay  which is sound resistant (20db reduction in impact sound) and also has a moisture barrier with a 200mm overlap.  Tuplex has good levelling properties and its unique construction allows efficient ventilation..

TIMBERTECH™ SILVER EXTRA - MOISTURE BARRIER

Timbertech™  Silver Extra is a high density, integrated fleece and aluminium vapour barrier.  It is 3mm thick and provides approx. 20db impact sound reduction and good levelling properties
