These thick old oak boards are rescued from old granaries dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The granaries are often in the foothills of mountains and come from various countries ranging from France to eastern Europe.

The original boards vary in thickness, ranging fro 40 - 70mm. These boards are then sawn through the thickness and then remachined to produce a 21mm board. The outside face varies greatly from batch to batch and may or may not be salvagable. The inside face has a beautiful rich colour which takes a polish well.
