Reclaimed Oak Flooring

Chauncey's Reclaimed French Railway oak boards are salvaged from the deconstruction of redundant French Railway carriages dating from the end of the 19th century. They can be supplied with a machined face, as an engineered board or with an original face.

Aged Oak

Our Regency™ oak flooring is truly indistinguishable from genuine original face, reclaimed oak boards. Available in Solid or Tectonic™ engineered format (for use over underfloor heating). A highly secret and complex mixture of treatments produces a board which has both the wear and patina of boards over 100 years old.

About our Solid Wood Flooring...

All stocks of new European hardwood flooring and softwood flooring are purchased from sustainable sources.
This is to say that timber is only purchased from managed forests where, as trees are harvested, new trees are replanted. We do not trade in new/virgin rainforest timber products.
We try to minimise ‘floor miles’ and so concentrate on timbers from Europe and all of our production is carried out in Europe or the UK.

Chauncey's specialise in longer and wider oak boards. Although we do offer narrower boards where required, our boards are generally much longer than our competitors for an equivalent price. We offer a range of prefinishing and antiquing which can be tailored to meet your individual project requirements. Customer Service

Our customers are central to everything we do. Chauncey's has been around since 1988, and since then we have built our reputation by delivering consistently high quality solid wood flooring products and exceptional service. We are an individual company, not part of a group. We produce all of our hardwood flooring and softwood flooring lines in the EU. Our sales staff are experts on flooring, so can offer valuable fitting and design advice. We work closely with a wide range of clients from architects to designers.

Quality Control

Quality is very important to us. We take great care to ensure that machining is superb and that moisture levels are consistent throughout our stocks. We have humidity controlled warehousing with large stocks to ensure that your hardwood flooring arrives on site in perfect condition. As trade suppliers, we know how important it is to make sure that orders arrive on site, on time, every time.

Returns / overorders: We don't like waste

When you purchase stock hardwood flooring or softwood flooring from us, if you order too much, we are happy for you to return what you do not use to us. Boards must be returned within one month of receipt by you, and be in the same condition as when they left us. If packaged in packs, please keep packaging intact. Minimum return is 1m².

Our showrooms

Our showroom and offices were primarily built using reclaimed timber for the timber frame construction, roof and floor joists and wall panelling. Toilets are fitted with low flush mechanisms, and all printer cartridges are recycled. Nearly all of our power usage is generated by our array of solar panels on our warehouse roofs. Any energy which we use that we do not generate ourselves comes from Ecotricity, one of our partner organisations. At Chauncey's, we are committed to managing our environmental impact by implementing an Environmental Management System.
